Modern Good Practice

What is the Modern GP program?

This is a program known as the Support Program for Modern Educational Needs (Modern GP). Based on the recommendations of several inquiring committees, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) adapts themes concerning Contribution to Regional Revitalization or Intellectual Property Educational Promotion that society demands. MEXT selects the best educational activities among those implemented by universities, junior colleges and technical colleges, supporting them to promote the improvement of the entire higher education sector by providing information about selected activities throughout the nation.

The themes that are selected for fiscal 2007 are as follows:

  1. Contribution to Local Revitalization
  2. Contribution to Regional Revitalization
  3. Educational Promotion of Intellectual Property
  4. Promotion of Environmental Education for Sustainable Society
  5. Promotion of Practical and General Career Education
  6. Promotion of ICI Education to Improve Educational Effect

Among those themes, the Collaborative Art Project that our university is working on was selected in association with 1. The rate for being selected as Modern GP program is only 20.3%.

Our program was selected as a 2007 Modern Good Practice (GP) Program for both excellent educational content and academic achievement in educational revolution by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. This Modern GP is being watched as a new standard for choosing universities.
